Fondazione Berengo and Berengo Studio present GLASSTRESS 8½
curated by Umberto Croppi at the Tesa 99 in the Arsenale Nord in Venice and at the Fondazione Berengo Art Space in Murano.

The title of the exhibition is a homage to the Italian director Federico Fellini, and his masterpiece of the same name, a film which hinges on the theme of artistic creation. Yet the title also works to emphasise that this is the eighth edition of GLASSTRESS at the Fondazione Berengo Art Space in Murano, which is a special "expanded" edition, with the ½ indicating two large never-before-seen installations that are exhibited in the Tesa 99 in the Arsenale Nord.
Here the public finds a monumental work by the Belgian artist Koen Vanmechelen which complements his installation in front of the Venice Pavilion inside the Giardini of the Biennale, and an installation by the Austrian artist Sabine Wiedenhofer.
In Murano at the Fondazione Berengo Art Space over 40 works are on display by contemporary artists who have collaborated with Berengo Studio, the creative glass furnace founded by Adriano Berengo in 1989. Over the last 35 years the Studio has become one of the leading creative glass furnaces in the world, a place where artists can freely collaborate with the island's master glassmakers to create art in glass.
